Lake Road Kitchen, Ambleside, UK

Lake Road Kitchen is an award winning restaurant in Ambleside in the heart of The Lake District.  They prepare truly fantastic food with exquisite service. The food was out of this world. Each dish was very carefully crafted and served delightfully. The staffs were very friendly, down to earth, attentive and informative. They knew everything about the food, where it came from and how it was cooked.

Much of the food is home grown and locally sourced. The best fine dining experience. Delicious food and the level of detail that goes into each dish are astonishing. The tasting menu is great as you get to try loads of things and it's a surprise. Each course was delicately presented, perfect portion size and fabulously tasting. All of the dishes were such a joy to eyes and of course to taste buds.

How to make Rava Laddu

Simple Indian sweet, can prepare within minutes with simple available ingredients in our kitchen. The basic ingredients are rava/semolina, sugar, ghee, dried grapes, almonds, cashew nuts and milk. For making this laddu, heat ghee in a pan and roast dried grapes, almonds and cashew nuts. Once done, take out the roasted nuts and put aside. Roast the rava in the same ghee. Rava burns very quickly, so you have to keep stirring continuously on medium heat. You will have a nice aroma once rava is ready. Add some sugar and mix them together. Let the roasted rava to cool for a while. Add some ghee and milk to make the laddu. It’s really that simple!
