Villa Maya, Trivandrum, Kerala

The place is more than 150 years old. The ambience was truly period, so warm and cosy, very comfortable and homely. It’s a very well maintained property with stylish interior especially the antique gallery. You will have fun watching fishes moving around in the pool. Absolutely fabulous place to eat and the outdoor ambiance are perfect in the consort’s quarters of the Royal Palace.

Worth a visit, best spot in Trivandrum. The food is amazing with creative cuisine. Each and every dish is outstanding. This is the best place to have royal dining experience. Their Villa Maya special mutton biriyani is so rich in its flavours. Chocolate fudge with hot caramel sauce for desserts was mind blowing. The staffs were really welcoming and courteous.

How to make Rava Laddu

Simple Indian sweet, can prepare within minutes with simple available ingredients in our kitchen. The basic ingredients are rava/semolina, sugar, ghee, dried grapes, almonds, cashew nuts and milk. For making this laddu, heat ghee in a pan and roast dried grapes, almonds and cashew nuts. Once done, take out the roasted nuts and put aside. Roast the rava in the same ghee. Rava burns very quickly, so you have to keep stirring continuously on medium heat. You will have a nice aroma once rava is ready. Add some sugar and mix them together. Let the roasted rava to cool for a while. Add some ghee and milk to make the laddu. It’s really that simple!
